One thing I have noticed, full sun on one, batteries have shown 100% since installation. On the other the solar panel is actually shaded a good bit of the day, limited direct sun exposure (going to adjust location/move later) and the batteries
Mar 28, 2022· A 12 volt batter that is <12 volts won''t put out enough current to do what it needs to do. It needs to be charged, usually 12.4-12.6 volts or so if lead acid. I keep a solar panel on mine and they stay 100% year round. Rosewood
Jun 18, 2024· I have 4 Tactacams on my property that is quite rural. Verizon is the cellular service. The oldest is a Reveal 1 and the other 3 are Reveal X Gen 2.0. One (Reveal 1) has been out for over 2 years and a Gen 2.0 for over a year. One of the 3 Gen 2.0 cameras was replaced under warranty.

View attachment 1174112 I just purchased the Tactacam solar panel with intergraded battery. Since connecting to the Reveal camera batteries are still 100%. Very happy with how its performing.

If you buy the adapters off Amazon, you will need to shave down about 2mm of the rubber, then it will fit fine. I''ve hooked all my cell cams up to 12V 12ah battery boxes I made. I have solar panel on one that is on a fence, and it works great too.
Sep 16, 2024· The Tactacam solar panel is good tho too and they just updated them. I''ve had some of the Tactacam solar panels for 3+ years also. I found if you keep them in the sun good and clean the pine tar and other stuff off of them, that may get on them then they last a while.
Sep 16, 2024· If we''re not there much it may last about 6 weeks. But they have saved me a fortune in Energizer lithium AA batteries. Those weren''t lasting much past a couple of months at best. I personally think they''re worth every penny since it''s not out of my way to change them. I''m eventually going to get around to attaching a solar panel to it.
