By reusing existing gas pipelines, Acorn will transport the captured CO 2 from the gas terminal stacks, into well-understood CO 2 storage sites. This establishes a full chain carbon capture and storage process and a large CO 2 transport and storage solution that will then be scaled to meet further demand.
Storegga, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Pale Blue Dot Energy, was the lead company on the project which is considered as one of the largest and most mature UK CCS and hydrogen projects.
