Lithium polymer cells have evolved from lithium-ion and lithium-metal batteries. The primary difference is that instead of using a liquid (such as , LiPF6) held in an(such as //), the battery uses a solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) such as(PEG),(PAN),(PMMA) or (PVdF). A lithium polymer battery, or lithium-ion polymer battery, is a rechargeable battery of lithium-ion technology using a polymer electrolyte instead of a liquid electrolyte1. The electrolyte is made of high conductivity semisolid (gel) polymers1. The lithium polymer battery was first released by Sony and Asahi Kasei in 19972.
